Reiki

Reiki is a natural healing system founded in Japan, the word being derived from the Japanese rei ('universal') and ki ('life energy').

Reiki practitioners act as a channel for natural energies which are drawn to imbalances in the body, and which help the body to re-balance and heal itself.  The practitioner’s hands are laid on or over the body at the 7 chakra points, and the healing energy is channeled into the patient to the areas where it is most needed.

People report feelings of warmth, tingling, relaxation or invigoration from reiki.  It is said to help alleviate stress, tension and pain, and to help with depression, insomnia and anxiety.
