Alexander Technique
The Alexander technique helps us to un-learn bad postural habits and re-learn how to use our head, neck and back properly to align the muscles and avoid unnecessary strain.Most of us slouch, sit badly, hunch our shoulders and tense our muscles without even thinking about it. The Alexander technique will help us become aware of what we’re doing, and to practice sitting, standing and moving correctly.
In August 2008 the British Medical Journal reported that a study of 500 people showed a big improvement in chronic back pain amongst those who had been taught the Alexander technique. You can read the Guardian’s report here or the Times’ here
