Skills for Life at Swarthmore

Swarthmore offers a range of Literacy, Language and Numeracy courses and accreditation for people of all abilities-from beginners to Level 2.

We can also offer you the chance to get accreditation for a range of other skills.

Foundation Learning uses 'credits' to recognise achievement in a range of skills. These credits of achievement can build together to make whole qualifications.

When you attend a Skills for life class you may also be able to work towards NOCN accreditation for credit based learning, if this is appropriate for your learning aims.

Supported Courses

We have a range of courses appropriate for people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities who need learning support in the classroom. These are described in the brochure as 'supported courses'. Learners are supported in the classroom, on an individual and /or group basis, so that as many people as possible can enjoy learning at Swarthmore.
