Learning skills to make a copper-foil suncatcher or a piece of fused glass, perhaps jewellery or coaster

By the end of the course I will have learned:

    Skills to be confident in handling glass

Non needed, just enthusiasm!

What equipment will I need for the course?

All provided by the college, perhaps an apron

What materials will I need for the course?

All provided by the college with additional cost

What activities will I take part in and how will my course be structured?

In a very relaxed atmosphere with group
demonstrations and 1-1 instruction

How will my learning be assessed and reviewed?

By informal discussion with the tutor and fellow students

What could I go on to do after I have finished the course?

To develop an interest in stained/fused glass and create pieces for the home, craft fairs etc

Course Funding

Swarthmore provides a variety of courses some of which are subsidised by public funding.

Courses with course codes marked by ‘LCC’ and ‘CityC’ are subsidised and have age restrictions.

  • ‘LCC’ and ‘CityC’ courses for those aged 19 and over.
  • ‘LCC’ courses are supported by Leeds City Council for Leeds Metropolitan area residents, priority given to those living in disadvantaged areas, people not in employment and/or in receipt of benefits, those with low skills, no qualifications, disadvantaged groups or individuals with specific needs e.g. lone parents, BAME groups, adults with LDD.
