We would like to apologise to the people that have already purchased tickets to attend the event but postponement is the right thing to do, the health and well – being of our visitors and staff is our top priority.

We will be rescheduling the event at a later date and we will keep you informed as to when this will be, all tickets purchased will be valid for the new date.

At this time Swarthmore Education Centre will continue to conduct  business as usual but please keep referring to our website for daily updates.

We would like to thank you for your on-going support and if you have any further questions about the event please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kindest Regards

Learn about our exciting Crowdfunding project to raise 25k to repair The Hall roof and redesign the space to be used for events, room hire and community bar.

Our hall is currently in a state of disrepair, and is not utilized as it could potentially be to provide a space to hire, run events and provide an entertainment venue for our local and wider community. Our plan is to fix our roof, which is currently leaking, redecorate the hall and refit our chair store to provide an area for a pop up café/bar. We will reinvest the monies raised for the bar to enable us to provide further resources for the hall such as a projector and screen, sound system, lighting etc.

The aim of Swarthmore is to serve our community as best we can, and as such the hall will be used to provide affordable room hire during the day for local charities, community groups and organisations. Weekend and evening hire will be aimed at providing a social calendar of events – from fairs and community group activities, to pop up theatre, bands, comedy nights, parties, film nights etc., promoting an affordable, central space to be enjoyed by all.

A place where our community can have an inspiring space, a place to socialise, meet new people, build confidence, promote culture.  Our plans are to create a warm and welcoming environment for hire, and provide an alternative sociable space for Leeds. We are the largest provider of arts workshops in Leeds including stained glass, oil painting,  printing, life drawing and jewellery making courses in our fully equipped customised workshops.
